Kick start

How do you fix a kick start that doesn't engage gear.it returns to top, just doesn't tu
rn engine over ...it used to work before had cover off....had apart 3 times, spring is on-the-job hole...things look fine...any help would be appreciated.

something inside the return mechanism had to slip apart while you were in there,
pull cover, pull kicker mechanism out and have a look, there are diagrams on
bikebandit.com
if i remember correctly, there are some plastic pieces in there that must be aligned....
slot/groove

if all else fails, i have an extra one i would sale

check to see if #3 in this picture is still there and intact.

on my 06 this piece had broken and sometimes my kicker would not engage\
