I must replace carburetor, is vm26-8074 a good choice?

The cost to repair OE VM26SS is almost as much as a complete new one. After searching and comparing specs, the VM26-8074 with 2.0 throttle valve comes pretty close. main differences are it has an air jet and the choke is a lever type. Also the cost is at least half that of the oe. Of course jets need work. Thoughts?

Yes that's it. The VM26-8074 specs were found in Mikuni Catalog. Comes with 190 main jet installed, and oe was 220, (interchangeable 4/042), not real sure how close needle and needle jet are to oe. Not sure how the main air jet figures in. Pilot, needle, and needle jets are different but wide range of comparable replacements are available.
