I finally did a compression check on my engine yesterday and it was down to 90...
So, I tore the head off, and could see some scratching on the cylinder walls.. oh sh*t, i thought...
I pulled the jug off with the piston, and the piston has some slight scratching on it, and a couple of the scratches on the cylinder walls that caught my fingernail. The wierd thing, is I could still see the crosshatching pattern from the last rebuild. The rings looked brand new.. The piston is a stock size as well... It gets worse... the wrist pin bearing was pretty loose in the rod, and the crank end of the rod was pretty loose. Just from that, its looking like a total rebuild of the engine.
It still runs, but not alot of power.
I think i'm going to toss this engine in favor of a swap to a bigger one.
