Hi guys. I just rebuild my whole motor and I done a compression test before I run it in. It has a 100 psi. This is woth a fresh jug, piston, piston rings crank seals and bearing. Is this a normal reading for a freshly build motor

Thanks for the reply. Any idea what would cause this. I honed the cylinder to before I installed the piston. It's dead on 100psi. Mabey when the rings are broken in the compression will rise ? This had me baffled.

Im not sure what to say because.
-you have post's about seals leaking
-then about modifying the cylinder head,
then you say you bought brand new cylinder/piston kit/ ect.
Why did you hone cylinder it if it was brand new?

This has got to be a e-bay top end kit?
.
Where did you buy the new parts from?
Why did you re-build it to begin with?
Also it kinda? looks like rtv on the clutch side case cover ? Is it?
I have never tried comp test with carb off?
I guess it would not affect the reading butttttt never tried it soooo yah know:)

I know alot of questions from me but
Whats up?

Hi. Thanks for reply. I bought a rebuild off ebay like 2 months ago and that kit didn't last to long. So this time of decided to buy all weisco parts. Don't you hone the cylinder to make circular groves to hold oil to lubricate the piston rings. Sorry for posting so many things but this atv is causing me slot of money and time and this is the only place I know off to get help as there is no garage near me that is able to this work. I want to find out the problem before Install the engine back in the atv.

To be honest with you im too tired to type a novel buttt
i can point you in the right direction...
get rid of the chinese cylinder
If your old cylinder has a bore left to it get it bored and fitted to a piston/rings by a a machine shop not by yourself :)

lol unless you have hundreds of dollars worth of equipment available.
Send the e-bay sh*t back and get your money back.
dont use rtv on anything except you'R exhaust or reed cage.PERIOD

you need to check for air leaks
PROPERLY HAVE THE CARB jetting/float level spot on correctly
do plug chops to maintain a healthy engine.

check for compression on top end/as a great sign whether your top end is roasting itself as well:)

But lets be Honest
from what you have written your engine is sucking in UNWANTED AIR
is low on COMPRESSION
and you have already wasted money on the E-BAY gimmick

If you dont want to fix it part it out and maybe find something with less issues as
it can be expensive.
And there are blaster's in all state of repairs out there TRUST me haha ;)
