Hi I am trying to place a new push rod a bearing but when I insert the rod there seems to be scraping and the rod won't go all the way in.

Stay with me here, I know this is going to sound stupid but... You made sure to remove the ball along with the push rod?

The scraping noise could possibly be dirt in there. Spray some carb/brake cleaner in there and blaze it out with compressed air.

Is the motor out of the bike?

One last thing, DONT forget to put grease all along the rod, and ball.

Check for clutch bell crank lever position also the old ball bearing may have seized inside the main countershaft and will need to be removed by splitting case and countershaft replaced along with new ball bearing
