On my step sons 2001 blaster.

it has the tors and no idle screw in the whole and the whole is closed inside the carb and no threads. and I dont see it in the manual.

So I asume this to be correct ???

So, is this a different carb ? seems to look the same and has a 230 jet, which is why it blew, running a fmf. but no tors. is that why this screw is there. ??

any help into this, would be great.

Thanks

I want to ask couple more questions.

I will likely run a fmf fatty and power core 2 on this when its all done.

here in central ill.

I was thinking of running a 260 or 270 jet. what setting should I set me needle.

I was just gonna get the jet for $5, versus the whole kit.

the tors has the idle adjustment on the top of that ugly box on the top of the carb.
the second carb is the same just has the idle screw installed.

start out by just using a 270 jet then do a plug chop. there should be a thread in here on plug chop.

If you premix to 32:1, air box lid on, use a #280.

Air box lid off, premix 32:1, start with a #290 and plug chop to confirm.

Stock needle on middle clip.

Plug chop.

Warm up motor to operating temp.

Fit new B8ES plug, ride through the gears and hold WOT in 5th or 6th gear for 10 seconds, or as long as you can safely.

Switch off the motor and pull in the clutch, roll to a stop.

Take the plug out and replace the old one for the ride home.

Carefully cut the threaded end off the plug to expose the insulator.

There should be a smoke ring of a cardboard or biscuit colour around the insulator.

If it is non existant or a very light colour, you are lean and require a larger main jet.

If it is a lot darker you are rich and may go down a size in main.

I prefer to run a little on the darker side, I may loose a little power but it is worth it for the peace of mind that I won't need a rebuild so soon.

This is a good to go plug.

This one is a little rich, but I would run it, I like to be on the safe side.

On top of the TORS is a big slotted, knurled knob, that is the idle screw.

There is no idle screw fitted to the side of a stock carb.
