Ok, I had a thread started that had lots of good info in it and helped me out tons. Got my new idke screw in and foind out some stuff that was done to the bike. New issue.
checked today and bottom end is leaking and smelled it and its definatley leaking 2 stroke oil and fuel. It looks like its right at the seal where both sides connect from what I can see. Bike still starts after a couple kicks and idles, then its a run away bike. The revs increase like im pulling the throddle then I kill ot because it sounds like its going to blow.

Question what the cheapest/ easiest way to fix this? Should I send the engine off and have it rebuilt?
 
Its revving high because it sucking air and causing a lean condition. Don't run it anymore or you will have to do a rebuild. You can disassemble yourself, watch the kor vids and they will help you get it back together right. Its a good idea to go ahead and replace bearings and seals if it hasn't been done recently. All the help you need is here if your willing to take it on!
 
the cases are going to need split and the sealing surfaces lapped for a good seal, then reassembled.
you should do at least main seals while you're in there, and main bearings if $ permit.

There are a few instances where people have repaired without splitting the cases, but that is normally a trans oil leak and I would not recommend it in your position, because if it fails, you could kill your motor
 
I agree, you want to get this fixed now and do crank seals for sure and bearings if $ permits like Awk08 said. I have watched the KOR videos and have used them myself to split Blaster cases and them reassemble. It may seem like a huge task to undertake but I watched the videos before and during a tear down and rebuild and I was surprised at how easy it was. If your mechanical, you should be able to do this yourself. If not, I've also had a complete motor rebuilt by KOR. He went through the bottom end, fixed what was wrong (quite a bit he found), rebuilt (it was in bad shape, needed new head and exhaust studs) and ported my cylinder. It SCREAMS!! If you send him anything to work on it will be right when you get it back. Just my $0.02
 
Ya I can work in things and its easy for me to figure things out. I used one of his videos to do my tranny, definat ley helpful because of all the damn washers and and c clamps. Easier to watch so you can remeber the order. This bike has just been a headache because I dont know exactly what has been done to it. I would almost rather have KOR rebuilt it from the ground up so I know exactly what is done to it. Do you havr any idea of what kind of price im looking at? I looked on his page but dont exactly know what needs to be done. Definatley bottom end split to fix leak, dont know if the crank needs a rebuild. Top end I have know idea because not sure what was done previously. Would like a new top end rebuilt just to have peace of mind.

Thanks for the help guys but I just wasn't comfortable doing that myself and then have something go wrong or it start leaking again. The bottom end is toast cracked on both cases and it looks as if the previous owner JB welded it. So it must be leaking at the everywhere between the tyranny and the crank.
*Good news for me though...I got a DIFFERENT engine completeley rebuild for a pretty damn good price
Bottom end rebuilt with all new manufacture seals, bearings and weisco crank, new clutch baskets inner and outer with new clutch kit.
Top end was rebuilt with all ports ported and polished, the intake one looks pretty aggressive, new weisco piston bored and honed can't remember the bore over size, all the paper work comes with it so I would have to look again.
Question I have for guys is I have some extra money to spend on this thing so want to make sure I get everything so I can put it all back together. Suggestions and should I invest in a smaller Carb or stick with my Keihin 35 for this new engine?
Suggestion on size sprockets and any other items that will help this out.

WOW, he didn't rebuild it! it is sitting in the garage with the bottom end leaking everywhere. I stated that I got a new rebuilt engine for a damn good price. I bought this new one and still have the old one.
 
Didnt we ant to start a new thread. Trying to get in the ball park with the carb. engine mods in the thread above, as well running a fmf pipe/silencer, boysen reeds, reeds caage spacer, cfm air box w/ uni and outerwears, kiehin 35mm carb. What should I shoot for in the carb? Right now it has

whats your current altitude and temps you plan to plug chop/ride in ?

I've never seen mention of this needle by anyone running a keihin 34-36 carb.
usually they have a J** needle in them, and we have figured out the DGH at + altitudes, and CEL for lower altitudes to work for our engines

#6 slide is a must.

airscrew: start at 1.5 turns out, adjust along with pilot according to above link /\
DGH or CEL needle, start on middle clip, richen one clip position at a time until it bogs, then back down 1 at a time until it just pulls hard.
148 thru 162 mains usually do the trick.
start large and plug chop down
 
I read how to do the air scre with the pilot jet was just wondering if I was already at a good starting position. I have never seen that needle as well, was hoping someone would enlighten me. I will put the clip in the middle, when I pulled it it was all the way at the tip notch from the previous owner. I am in eastern NC 3 meters to 14 ft above sea level. Temps have been all over the place, 80's then down to mid 40's. Average i gues 45-55 though.
