blaster top speed issue

Hi have a 2002 blaster oil block off kit full fmf exhaust problem is at about 3 gear and up it doesn't seem like its hitting the full power band i can pull the clutch in and give it gas and it revs alot higher the carb is set to about 2 turns out and i only hit about 48mph i know it has alittle more it can get out of it any ideas please let me know thanks

55mph should be what you top out at. Thats what my 03 blaster got to with full FMF and airbox lid removed. Riding on beach = mix of sand and stones.

Whats sprockets are you running? I was running stock ones.

Have you got the airbox lid on or off?

stock sprockets and running with the lid on it just seems like the engine is not opening up to it full potential 1st 2nd are ok sometimes around 3rd fourth it bogs just alittle and doesn't really hit the power band

Jets should have been changed with the fmf. Whats your elevation?

i believe its the stock jetting

you will fry it with an FMF and stock jetting.
needs a 270 to 300 main jet
buy 270,280,290,300 main jets, start with the 300 and plug chop down............

Checking the plug tells you nothing.

You should do a plug chop to confirm the jetting.

found out it has a 300 jet in in it should i go smaller?

Have you leak tested it also. good thing to do as you will have the carb off.
