Hey guys wanted to know if any of you can help me, got my first 2 stroke blaster it’s 2005, I’ve only used it couple times I’ve replaced spark plug and it was starting and running fine until couple hours ago. It starts but if I don’t keep finger on on throttle it dies, I’m not sure what’s going on. Also idk if this helps but the gas barely flowing unless it’s turned on “reserve”. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated

There is a possibility that the in tank filter could be blocked .

Idle adjusting.
Set float level, make sure that all jets are clean and fuel flows freely from the float bowl drain
when the screw is cracked open.
Start with air screw 1.5 turns out.
Set idle screw so that it has some sort of idle. With TORS it is the big screw under seat on top of
unit. With no TORS is is the brass screw midway down carb body.
Warm up motor and then set idle screw for a faster idle, 2000rpm+
Adjust air screw either way to get the fastest idle.
Adjust air screw a little at a time leaving 10 secs or until the motor responds.
Re adjust idle screw for desired idle .
if the air screw ends up being more than 2 1/2 turns out the pi;]lot is too big.
if the air screw is less than 1/2 a turn out the pilot is too small

Thank you so much, I cleaned air filter because previous owner had it really dirty, I think you have a point tho with it being blocked. I’ll definitely try doing what you told me, I’ll keep thread updated.

This is update, I cleaned carb, gas tank & made sure jets were clean. Still when I turn fuel line “ON” no gas comes out, gas flow comes only when it’s in “Reserve” also I get backfires & I cleaned air filter as well.

Did you take the petcock out and check the filter pick-up on it ?
Might pay to get a rebuild kit for the petcock so you have the parts to fix it when you take it apart to clean it.

What temperature are you running in ? The backfire could be from a lean condition from plugged petcock or to small of jet/carb tune. Though it might be hard, shouldn't ride it until you get it figured out, possible damage may occur.
