Beat by a honda CR80

what is it 20.6 hp at 12,000 rpm over 150 lbs.
versus 17hp at 8,000 rpm over 250 lbs.
stock for stock even with the blaster jetted and piped with a toomey which is aroud 21hp.
if the riders are equal then the cr80 or newer 85 is gonna spank the blaster.
But your not gonna get much over 25hp out of 82 or 84cc on pump gas, you can easily get 35 or more out of the blaster on the same fuel.
The cr comes in a much higher state of tune from the factory, but as the builders and racers say there is NO replacement for Displacement.
Just ask any of the titanium valved 4 stroke riders if they would have a chance cc for cc against the two strokes, they will stutter, whats gonna be funny is when the 2 strokes get full direct injection of oil and fuel, there is a pretty good chance that even a 450 4 stroker, wont be able to run with a real 2stroke race bike.

but as the builders and racers say there is NO replacement for Displacement.
I partially agree with that, a big engine is less efficient then a small one...per cc a small engine would have more horsepower then the big one.
Just an example: Honda CR80 around 20 hp, CR125 around 30 hp, CR250 around 45 hp and the CR500 has around 55 hp
You can see the relation between displacement and efficiency....... lol
If a 500 was as efficient as a 80, the 500 should have around 120 hp stock lol

Yeah but look at the torque curves
With an 80 you just gotta brrrrriiiinnnnnng it and wring it
a 125 wider powerband but you must keep the rpms up.
With a 250 a good upper mid setup can and will outrun a screamer, unless traction is really good
by the time you get to 500 cc most people are trying to figure out how to tone it down enough to be controllable.
I still think yamaha got it right with the banshee 2 x 175cc cylinders and several oem or semi oem Big bore options.

Yep , the RD 350 engine is a beauty!
4 cyl 2 stroke RD/ RG 500 engine in a quad, that would be fun:D!
