Do a 1/2 to 3/4 plug chop and adjust as to how the ring on the plug is coloured.

You may need to lift the needle (lower the clip) one notch.

Only a plug chop can confirm if it is correct.
 
i have never adjusted my needle for winter riding, only the airscrew and bump the main up one size,
i do this once temps get into the low 50's and have never had a problem
any lower than 30's and it may need more ??? i'm not sure as you won't catch me riding in much below freezing.
and usually i only ride in those temps for hunting purposes, which usually doesn't include much "ripping" just putting around
 
Well I have been running a tad on the rich side anyways so I think I'll be save for another couple weeks, by then I plan on tearing the whole bike apart for a complete make over
