99 blaster

I just got a 99 blaster for 500 bucks it starts up sits idles but clutch won't engage im new to atvs but not new to turning wrenches just wondering what steps I need to take to check this bike over and get her in the woods asap also is atf transmission fluid ok to use in the clutch transmission once again I'm new so all positive feedback will be appreciated I think this is the one place I will get all the help I need

Atf is ok.

Check to see of the cable is hooked up. See if when you pull the clurch lever, if it moves the acuator arm. (Sorry my spelling sucks)

You may be able to pull some slack out of the cable on the adjuster, but an actual adjustment would be on the rod adjuster located on the pressure plate. That would require taking the clutch cover off, and aligning the acuator arm with the arrow on the case.


Check out the cable first, then report back. We'll figure something out .

It's moving but won't come out of neutral

I also just noticed a slight leak under the crankcase but I don't see any holes in it

Had some type of putty or sealant on it

Found my leak now I don't know what to do cause I don't know if I can afford to get this fixed
