400ex or 660r?

Just sold my 03 blaster yesterday. The blaster was a awesome quad, fast and good handling. I just want a bigger quad. I was out growing the blaster.

watch out for second gear on the 400ex they tend to go out
why?
because you almost have to keep it in second to ride certain trails.
my only experience was a 2000 400ex.Second gear was fine on it but keep an eye out.
also the 1 i had,had a Duncan Fat BOY 4 exhaust that was made with no tabs for heatshield on your leg.
it got soooo hot i had to fabricate a aluminum heat shield for it.
$600 dollar exhaust go figure.
I had more fun on the blaster so i sold it and bought another blaster lol
400ex felt slow yet had more low end grunt for hills or riding double ect.
Also had to buy the extra special sparkplug wrench super friggin thin to get it out i actually still have that oh soo special socket, not to mention 2 different drain bolts to drain tranny oil ect lol

I had a 2000 400ex for quite awhile. Like speedy said the low end grunt was phenomenal, not a hill I couldn't climb .

The biggest problem I had was rear axle bearings. I'd blow out a set a year.

All in all, it was a good bike that never really gave me any trouble. I'd recommend it
