    POS blaster

So I patched it up. Filled hole with some jb weld, put in a piece of sheetmetal, then three more layers of jb weld. I do plan on replacing the case at some point but just wanted to get it running. After curing for two days I did a leakdown test, holds pressure after replacing a crank seal and...

    POS blaster

Found my problem. Have a pinky finger sized hole in the bottom of the crank case, just left of center. Going to clean it up and attempt to epoxy it. I realize that's not a permanent fix, but I've spent all the money I'm going to spend on this blaster for now at least until I get my mustang back...

    POS blaster

Finally got around to putting together a leak down tester. I can't get any pressure whatsoever to build in this thing. The tester is good, can plug it with my hand and get 20psi. Clamped onto the engine gets me zero. Sprayed around the base, reed, and head and didn't get any bubbles. Haven't...

    POS blaster

Got a bigger carb due to the big bore kit. Had read that getting a bigger carb would work better with it. As far as the piston, it is from Vitos, but I thought they were manufactured by wiseco. There was a slip in the box that said something about wiseco. Right now just the 240 kit, from...

    POS blaster

I'm at the end of my patience with this thing. A few years ago I upgraded from stock to a pwk33 carb. I haven't been able to get it running right since. I originally had it running decently until I lost compression, the rings were burnt up. I cheaped out and replaced just the rings then jetted...

    Low compression

Yeah, you're right. I should have done a leakdown check. I pressure tested the carb and the intake manifold together but not everything as a whole. As far as the carb, it was brand new and I jetted it richer than all of the other members that I've seen with the same carb. Anyway, it will...

    Low compression

Posted that from my phone so I left some stuff out, but more specifically, after i changed out the reeds and the carb, thats when it took half throttle to start it. Played with the pilot jet and air/idle screw to get it idling good. At that point it was starting first kick. Took it down the...

    Low compression

Lol, held the throttle open and kicked it until my foot hurt. Pobably about 50 times.

    Low compression

My blaster has been getting harder and harder to start lately. I upgraded the carb and the reeds and pretty much had to give it half throttle to start it. Decided to do a compression check and am only getting 60 psi, which is about half what it should be. The top end is a vitos 240 bbk with...

    pwk 33 start/idle

When I have the time I'll take it back apart and doublecheck the pilot jet. I suppose I need to check the float level also, didn't do that.

    pwk 33 start/idle

The slide is a 6, which according to the chart I found is right in the middle on the rich/lean scale. Also, there was no fuel at all on the engine side of the carb. Granted, it hasnt ran yet, but should there be a little just from kicking it over 50 plus times? I didn't play with it too much...

    pwk 33 start/idle

I just installed a pwk33 carb along with some v-force 4 reeds. Prior mods are a K&N filter, no airbox lid, FMF fatty pipe with powercore 2 silencer and a vito's 240 bbk. I rejetted the carb with a 155 main and 50 pilot jet from what it came with. Heres my issue. I'm still waiting for a new...

pwk33, what jets should I order?

Thanks for the input guys, those are the ranges I ordered pretty much. Should be getting everything by tuesday. Can't wait to install it all and play around with it.

pwk33, what jets should I order?

It's got the vito's 240, which will one day be ported, probably before summer. For now thats it. I just ordered the v-force 4's also and haven't gotten them yet but was reading a few reviews and people were saying they had to up their pilot a little to keep the idle right.

pwk33, what jets should I order?

Went ahead and ordered a few from Jetsrus. Wonder what the quality of the OEM equivalent ones are, they're half the price of the genuine ones, but ordered a 50 slow, and a 145, 150, 155, and 160 main. That should get me close and I'll fine tune it from there if I need to.

pwk33, what jets should I order?

I've decided to drop a little bit of money on my blaster. I just ordered a pwk33 carb which shows it comes with a 165 main jet, a 52 slow jet, and a 48-cgl needle. I can't find a kit for it so I was going to order some extra jets to change out. I've searched and can't find much about jetting...

    Flooding

When I first got my blaster I had a problem with the idle. As soon as I would start it the idle would jump really high and run all out. Turns out I was an idiot and had the fuel selecter set to reserve and was hardly getting any fuel.

    Rear brakes

They came off of a banshee, think it was an 01 but not positive. Yeah, guess I'll just go back through everything and rebleed it, if that doesn't help I'll rebuild the caliper.

    Rear brakes

How strong should the rear brakes be? I know on a car the front brakes are roughly 75% or your braking power with the rears being 25%. I bought my blaster from a buddy who had converted it to hydraulic brakes, the front brakes work great but the rears I wouldn't use for much more than holding at...

    Carb Jetting?

I've got pretty much the same mods as you plus a k&N filter. I still have to fine tune it slightly but I have a 32.5 pilot jet, and aftermarket needle(blue one) with the ring on the lowest notch, and a 340 main jet. Heres another good article, All-OffRoad - Dirt Bikes - For Beginners -...
