ok. Now I understand. Your either missing a spacer or washer on the clutch side or it is not torqued down and the nut is coming off. Your weird sound might be that clutch assembly moving while you are riding.

Do I need the dog bone on the 250R shock or will it bolt right up to the mount on the swinger?

If you know you have a bad crank seal resulting in an air leak, then why would you run the engine in the first place? AIR LEAKS KILL 2 STROKES!!!!!!! Do not run your engine until you fix the crank seal and do a leakdown test!!!!!!

Did you say it was backfiring? You might want to check your flywheel key. Backfiring=timing issues. Just another thought.

I am pretty sure the paper base gasket is what cost me my piston. It was a Vito's piece of sh*t!!! No further comment!

I pulled my top end apart, ordered a piston kit from someone here so now I need a new base gasket. Bike is all stock so should I go back with stock Yamaha or something else? I had a Vito's on it before but I read on here they have put out some bad ones lately. Any suggestions?

I ordered a new Wiseco piston kit and installed it. Had an air leak so I broke it back down to find I needed crank seals. Replaced all bottom end seals and got new top end gaskets. My manual also says it is the second fiber disc in the setup. There should be a fiber, then a steel, then the wave washer, and then the larger i.d. fiber. Then steel and so on.

Guys I have been so busy fixing other peoples quads in the last two weeks, I have'nt even had time to replace the top end gaskets and install the TORS delete on mine. Hopefully, I will get one made soon.
