    Yamabond 4 is semi-drying and Yamabond 5 is a drying type. From the specs Yamabond 5 is the stronger of the two and meant for engine cases either should work fine

    I used hondabond-4 on my rebuild as long as its a semi-drying sealant I don't think it matters.

    the pics of the piston indicate detonation to me and or something coming apart in the botom end of the engine. does the surface of the cylinder head look about the same? the piston should be smooth on top with a bit of carbon build up and not looking like it was cleaned by dragging it accross...

    Front Drums and Rear Disc are finished ( 1991 yamaha blaster )

    I have a whole box of fronts and rears and will have the complete front system that need one set of shoes on the left and the rights are new,, I'm grinding out the warriors upper ball joints and puting them into a spare set of blaster arms and next time out I will be full hydro!!

    off idle is pretty much set WOT seems to be lean, when I let back off the throttle a bit it picks up better

    yeah I know about the clips I did have the 280 in there stock with airbox lid on and it seemed on the rich end of things needle clip second from the top ...changed nothing except the air box lid removal and the fmf pipe ...had a chance to really ride on saturday and it really pulls hard even...

    whoa I got the pipe on with the stock silencer w/ the end missing and it ran like crap, it was breaking up even after a good warm up but then remebered the air box lid I had taped up all the holes the PO had drilled in it I popped the seat removed the lid a WAMMO the blaster has ALOT more...

    +1 on the air leak another area to check for leaks is the crank seal behind the stator/flywheel.

    if your going though the trouble of taking it apart you might want to get the cylinder measured and see if its ready for the next size up piston while your at it... you can get the new pro-x piston and machine work for $120-$150 if you shop around

    Blaster trouble :(

    you can leave the oil in it and just chain it up try turning your a/f screw down to 1 turn out also you can find clear hose at home depot and hook it up to your carb drain then piont the hose up ward along side the carb and turn the drain screw out to check the level of your fuel...
