    Sold the Blasty today...

Yeah, I love 2 strokes as much as anybody. Really. But after spending some time on some buddies big bore 4 strokes, I definitely am starting to understand the appeal... I'd love a Banshee, or a classic 250R, but my whole life right now is toward simplifying. I sold my project car for a nicer...

    Sold the Blasty today...

Another trip to the dunes sealed the deal. My Blaster is great, but it's just not enough anymore. I've had it for 3 years, and it's been incredible for that time. No breakdowns, no issues. Just reliable ring-a-ding-ding! Not sure what I'm going to replace it with yet. Leaning toward a...

Pics from our trip to St Anthony Idaho

Well the Scramblers are a non-issue. Too heavy and pretty slow in the sand really. The Rappy and Outlaw, yeah that's another story! For the record, the Raptor and Outlaw are both piped, otherwise stock. The Rappy outclimbs it no problem. We go to the dunes a couple times a year. The...

Pics from our trip to St Anthony Idaho

Me and 4 buddies went to St Anthony last weekend. 5 guys, one truck, 850 km each way, 3 days (long days!). Like always, the Blaster was a bit (quite a bit) out-gunned in the dunes, but the WildCard motor took all the flogging I could throw at it!

I only have one ride on the Mud Lites. But they flat out rock! Very supple, unlike most 6 ply rated tires. Light too! The Mud Lites on the STI rims are 7 lbs!! per side lighter than the GBC Gators/steel rims I had on before. WAAAAAY more comfortable ride too. If anybody is wondering, the...

I don't like the late style hood/light setup, and I had an opportunity for a straight trade with somebody that didn't like their pre-03 hood. I got the Banshee headlights off Ebay for like $10. I thought it would be unique. If anybody is thinking about it though, the hood IS NOT a direct...

It seems like it would, but I've run it like that for the last year with no bad effects. It's not a frame guard, it's a legal requirement to be licensed and insured to ride on crown land. I just wrapped my skid plate up the front and bolted the plate to it. It's about the only place I can put...

Here it is. It's not really shiny and pretty, I barely have time to ride let alone polish...

    Rear Hubs

I just got a pair of YFZ 450 rear hubs on ebay last week for $26. They look brand new. The cheap deals are out there.

    Blasters suck

I'm on my second season on a Wildcard ported top end. Fairly hot port job, piped, carbed etc. I ride with Outlaws and Raptor 700's. I have to ride HARD!!! The Blaster is stone cold reliable. Most reliable bike in our ride group for sure. If these motors blow up, it's user/builder error...

    chain keeps popping off

Are your swingarm or axle bearings very loose? This will cause excessive chain wear due to misalignment, making it seem like your chain is getting loose, but is in fact wearing. A little wear on 120+ pins adds up to a lot of stretch.

Went to the dunes - need more power!!

So if anybody on here has a 250r, I'd like the measurement from the swingarm pivot bolt to the INSIDE of the "u" bend in the pipe. I'd like to start figuring out how this motor would work in a Blaster frame.

got a 2001 yz 250 for my blaster

That's a sweet build. Can't wait to see some video. I'd like to hear if you have any frame/mount cracking issues in the coming weeks/months. That seems to be a common issue with these non counterbalanced 250 swaps. Sweet build though. Very clean/high quality work and parts from the looks of it.

Went to the dunes - need more power!!

    Two problems with that: 1)They're freakin huge. 2) they're 4 stroke. I don't do 4 strokes.

Idle issue, think its carb related

I know for sure you can't make any power with the stock airbox with the lid/snorkel on it. It's like trying to run a marathon and breathing through a straw. Even a stock engine/carb will benefit from removing the airbox cover on these quads, with the appropriate rejetting if necessary. The...

Went to the dunes - need more power!!

Yep, true statement. I'm going to have it well planned out before I dive into it. I think I've got all the fab stuff I'd need, and friends for the stuff I don't have:) The only thing I'm worried about is being able to re-sell it - at some point - but it's a Blaster. It's already worth...

Went to the dunes - need more power!!

Yeah, there are a few 50hp dyno queens, maybe...and if I went that route, Wildcard would get my work again. This little 200 is a hoot, and it's been dead-nuts reliable. I beat on it - HARD! However, a 50hp Blaster is on the bleeding edge of being a royal PITA grenade most of the time...

Went to the dunes - need more power!!

So I just got back from a couple days at St Anthony dunes in Idaho. WOW!!! First time in the sand, it was AWESOME. My little 200cc Wildcard ported/rechambered motor worked surprisingly well, but I was really outgunned. My buddy was riding his piped/carbed Banshee. We swapped rides, and to...
