If you went from 230 to 320 it makes sense. Depending on elevation the fmf will use a 270 to 310 main from what I recall

What mikuni carb are you using?

Did you do a leakdown test before you started it? Sounds like a major air leak IMO. Are you running stock carb and did you delete TORS?

IMO drawing air from there would only cause the bike to run lean and possibly have hanging idle. Heavy white smoke like you have is usually the crank seals.

Climbing the ladder

Busco next weekend. Have called out 450s and a few 700s. They all declined the 300ft drag. Killing 125 2 stroke dirt bikes in 300 feet thanks to Ken oconnor and a few 250s as well( love how I ride). Ran a ds 650 with 650 bmw motorcycle motor and it took him much more than 1/8th to catch up...

Had the same exact problem before. In my case the nut on the outside of the clutch basket had backed out almost completely. Put loctite on the threads and put it back together. Solved everything. Hope this helps. Remember to readjust clutch also.

Ok. That was why I asked. Without the stops, the reed ends do flair open badly and can cause the problems you had described.

Are you running the factory reed stops?
