    Stock stator wattage and voltage

It better be! Since the stock headlight bulb alone is 45W! :p The standard tailight is only 4W... However I'd guess that the 18W rating of the light-bar is at the maximum 24V input, so will be much lower power when run at 12V - probably less than 8W at the lower voltage (I'd measure it with a...

    Blaster won't start

Is it possible that the magneto flywheel key has sheared off, so it's not getting consistent spark, or something else wrong with one of the magneto coils? I'd open the cover on the left side of the ATV and confirm that everything is good under the hood there. This may sound dumb, but also check...

    Pressure plate

Maybe a stupid suggestion, but something that made the clutch stick on my blaster when I rebuilt it: Manhandling the clutch basket raised some burrs along the grooves into which the clutch plates key. The plate edges would catch on these burrs and made moving the plates difficult. I had to...

Friends wheel bearings keep flying out plz help!

The bearings are usually a VERY tight press fit in the axle carrier. If they're flying out then there must be something wrong with either carrier housing, axle, or bearings. - Sure he got the right size bearings? - Is the axle bent? If its got too much runout and is whipping too much, the...

Bearings and Seals for '03 Blaster wheels and carrier

Hi All I'm trying to replace the Bearings and Seals of the front wheels and rear carrier on a VERY neglected 2003 Blaster. Everything is stock, nothing's ever been replaced! :) Trouble is, some things are a bit too damaged to read part numbers off, and here in SA wheel bearing kits are...

    Clutch Holder DXF Pattern

On my STOCK clutch, I gave it a little clearance so it can seat all the way to the bottom of the basket easily. There's about 0.5 - 1mm between the crown of each tooth and the bottom of each groove. The teeth could be slightly longer, but the tighter you make the clearance the more of a pain in...

Yamaha blaster axle bearing replaced but did not help

Replacing worn parts is always preferred, but depending on the amount of clearance and your budget, maybe you could just loctite the bearing in place? If you're going to get rid of the bearings and housing anyway, maybe it's worth a shot... Blue loctite if you ever want to get it apart again...

    96 blaster brakes

Simple: Don't go through water :P Sounds like your brake pads/disc might need replacing... you checked everything still in spec on the pads and discs? Still got the old cable brakes right? Make sure the cable isn't pinched anywhere... like maybe when you turn it pinches the cable and locks up...

What is benind the stator bolts??

The 2 long phillips-head stator bolts are usually loctite'd in, so the gummy junk you saw was probably just this (was it brownish?). The "pop" you felt may have just been a thin skin of loctite that was on the end of the bolt... Unless you pushed REAL hard, and went clear through the case :P...

2000 blaster dies when throttle hammered

Very nice! I'm sure you'll have fun on that! Ah the old carboard performance mod; a classic. The biggest mistake people make there is using cardboard from a box of All-Bran Flakes; this gives the quad too much gas and it starts to run rich. Nothing slapping a Monster sticker on can't fix...

2000 blaster dies when throttle hammered

Agreed. Jadidaskv I think you already know the answer you want from us, so better to just go for a test ride and check if the Blaster meets your expectations before you buy it :D It seems like a fair price, from where I am across the internet having never seen the quad (so take that for what...

How to repair a leaking carb intake boot by lapping

My Blaster recently started idling high/running lean, and I had to do a leak test to find the air leak. As it turns out there was HUGE leak between the carb intake boot and the reed cage... I couldn't get the engine to pressurise with a hand pump: All the air just escaped before I could whip out...

2000 blaster dies when throttle hammered

Selling 2 Hours after a rebuild and dropping the price like that seems suspicious to me (why bother rebuilding?), like maybe he took some shortcuts that are coming back to haunt him... However it's very possible it's just the carb, as I've had a similar thing happen to me when I take the...

Nothing super thrilling - DC conversion/LED lights

The best part about cheap eBay electronics is... they're cheap! The worst thing is... yep, they're cheap :) I love my cheap eBay electronics. I find if you don't expect them to deliver the full rated voltage/current, then they'll last just as long as any other. The sellers usually state the...

    My bleed down tester

Great effort - glad to see you're using the right parts... brass is always good! Just a caution: be very careful when using a gauge with such a big range compared to what you need; typical practice is to use a gauge with 2X the intended operating range (so 15PSI or 100kPa here), as mechanical...

    Clutch Holder DXF Pattern

I took some photos, but I don't have them on my phone. I'll try upload some tonight. EDIT: There you go, photos as requested. FYI, the handle could have been shorter, but I made it the same length as my torque wrench so that I've got the same leverage on the holder and the wrench... helps stop...
