I've heard a few people tell me to remove the airbox lid for more power.. If i do this..do i need to do anything else to the quad? Is this true?

I've always liked the look of quads and trikes with front number racing plates on and I don't ride at night so I don't need a headlight..is there a place to buy a plate that fits and looks good on the front? Does anyone on here have one and have pics??
