    New project - Warrior

So I'm finally done and ready to ride! Fixed the exhaust studs, I put on a slip-on exhaust, rejetted the carb to the pipes specs, upgraded to a kn air filter, and installed new rear tires. Only having one small issue that may need attention before things are dialed in: she starts right up...

    New project - Warrior

Piston and cylinder walls look great. There's a good amount of carbon built up on the head of the piston tho, she's black.

Should I replace the rings while it's apart? Would that even matter?

    New project - Warrior

So after selling all of my toys I've decided to scoop up a couple projects. One of them is a 96 warrior that's been sitting a while. Got her running after a couple of hours, but once she was running it was obvious that there was an exhaust leak. Come to find out one of the exhaust studs was...

1988 LT80 low compression after rebuild

So I've tried just about everything and no luck. I've checked compression, spark, and fuel. Replaced the wiring harness, starter, battery, spark plug, drained cylinder of gas, cleaned carb, replaced carb with one fresh off a running lt80, etc. I am to the point of going to bed thinking about a...

1988 LT80 low compression after rebuild

Put another starter in and it cranks again, but still no start. Is the old starter trash or able to be rebuilt?

1988 LT80 low compression after rebuild

Battery is fine. Tried to test the starter and it doesn't sound like it's engaging. Going to swap it out and go from there.

1988 LT80 low compression after rebuild

Good to know. Everything is back together with new carb rebuild kit installed. BUT now I think I need a starter relay. It's just making a buzzing noise. I Tried putting the relay from our '01 on there but I don't think they're compatible. I don't get any action (no buzzing) with the newer style...

1988 LT80 low compression after rebuild

Did not replace the petcock yet. I have cleaned the carb over and over, but doesn't seem to be enough. Airscrew set at 2 rotations out and choke stays on when attempting to start, then needs to be depressed to disengage.

1988 LT80 low compression after rebuild

Completely understand. Many times ppl, including myself, get impatient with lack of results and make poor decisions. Lesson learned and thank you

1988 LT80 low compression after rebuild

Starter fluid down ! Haha...I knew it would get me a responce sooner or later. It is possible that it's flooded again...pulling the carb off shortly to clean again and I will try to investigate gas in the crankcase. I am going to order new petcock tomorrow off ebay. Banshee apparently bolts on...
