    Oil pump

    Block off the pump and be sure to block off the nipple on the carb. That washer is supposed to be bent over to keep the nut from backing off. now look what you did you made me say nipple, bent over and nut all in the same post.

    The pilot will be fine, the main jet may need to be changed. plug chopping is the only way to be sure.

    If the previous owner did not block off the nipple on the carb you might want to look into how they blocked off the pump.

    Have you done a leak test on it, excessive smoking could be the clutch side crank seal.

    The only big bore kit for the blaster is a 240. The cheapest way to go is send your top end out to Ken Oconnor and have him bore it and match a new piston. http://www.kenoconnorracing.com/

    Blaster not running...

    Don't start it with starting fluid it has no lubrication for the engine. I would give the carb a good cleaning and check the float height.

    Backfire may have caused on of your reed petals to break off. pull the carb and have a look in there.
