DO NOT use a palm sander... i use a Ryobi palm sander to take down all the deep scratches on mine and it left little c shaped divets all in the plastic that i had to turn around and get out by hand... electric sanders are just too much for plastic i think.. but thats just my experience.

who knows if there is spray paint out there that wont scratch off easily?? also has anybody had there's wrapped? ive thought about doin both... any suggestions?

im not familiar with the internal adjustments, but it need to be tightened at least a half inch just to get a couple threads on the top adjustment, then it runs a chance of needing more to take the slack out of the handle

i just got the blaster like 2 weeks ago, but as far as i know its never been replaced.. its an '03 by the way.

PICS PICS PICS.... if you find pics of the before and after TORCHING id love to see them.. im tempted to just give it a shot!

my clutch cable is adjusted so far back that its backed out of the housing.. and the handle is still "floppy"... is this because by cable is old and stretched?? or could it be something more?? hopefully i can just put a new cable on for 15 bucks and be done ? :-/ ?

id love to get my hands on one in this shape, with a good engine and tranny, for my wife, plus it would give me another one to tinker w/ and fix up..

i like them... do you think it would take away too much foot room to mount it directly to the tubing, and angle them back toward the fender instead of welding them to the old tabs, like you did??? i cut my metal tabs (that the plastic heel guards attached too) off to give me more wheel clearance..

cool no rush, i prolly wont do much with the plastic til sunday. i think im gone come up with a heel guard design to fab up this week, since i took off the old factory plastic ones...
