Another thing about riding a blaster is that sometimes you have to have some thick skin for when the noobs on the 450's (that their daddy bought) give you a hard time.
Most two strokes are higher strung motors as in they prefer higher rpms. Compared to 4 strokes which are better for lugging around.
IMO it takes a bit more skill to ride a two stroke effectively in slow trails/mud.
We went last weekend specifically for the mud. :)
And we weren't disappointed.
We also hit up a local car wash that allows mud and cleaned up the quads. $8 later it was good as new. I:I
I do the 50+ yards stuff for fun. Most of the time I'm shooting at 5-15 yards. At 7 yards my current best is 2 shots, drawing from the holster, in 2.5 seconds keeping the shots inside a 8" target. I use a shot timer app on my phone.
With cheap Federal fmj's I can hit a 14" steel plate at 50+ yards. Even better with my carry ammo. The 9 has very little recoil. Also stock mags are 17 rounds. My extended mags are 22 rounds I:I
Here's a pic of what I carry every day.
Both tests will give you valuable info on how to proceed.
quadsrus1 has a link in his sig for the compression and I have one for the leak test if you need more info on doing them.
Good luck. I:I
One possibility could be the plug is fouled. Did you try a new plug?
But you really need to do a compression and leak test before worrying about other things. It may need a bore job now.
