Okay so i have no clue how everyone can get their fmf pipes to not leak between the flange and the head pipe because I tried the copper rtv and it just disintegrated after the first couple rides. I tried copper flashing and wrapped the flange and forced the pipe over it, that wore out too. I’m getting pretty annoyed because I know leaks are bad for it and I have no clue what else to do to get it to seal and stay sealed. Any ideas?

Isn’t there a silicone boot for that joint? Just throwing it out there. A full exhaust is one of those things that was missing from my blaster when I got it.

EDIT: I thought you were talking about the exhaust to silencer connection.

The pipe to head connection could be a few things. Bent pipe, bent flange, warped head, carbon buildup. I’m unfamiliar with the gasket situation since I have no pipe to refer to yet, but it’s not my first rodeo with exhaust leaks. Are your bolts torqued enough? Stripped ?

It’s not between the cylinder to flange connection it’s leaking from the flange to pipe connection

I didn’t realize there was a separate flange that went inside the expansion chamber. I had to look up pics to see what you were talking about. I’d like to see what others have done as well. Bump

Clean really well and copper rtv..let it dry for 2 days before you start it . Use about a half a tube around the flange and pipe . It looks like crap but does the job . Or you can scribe a couple lines take it apart and have it welded
