Use this premix for your Blaster!

Why the difference in ratio for different exhaust pipes.????

I learned that with aftermarket pipe it desires more 2 stroke oil for better piston protection. It is also a better choice when you have more airflow with an open airbox and aftermarket pipe. 40:1 isn't enough oil for the piston when you have an aftermarket pipe

40:1 is not enough oil anyway for a Blaster no matter what pipe you use.

32:1for recreational riding 25:1 for racing and prolonged full throttle openings.

Bear in mind that you may need to re jet for the extra oil...

"Desires"??? Since when can a pipe make decisions?

I've used 40:1 and even 50:1 in nicasil plated cylinders for years and continued to do so in the Blaster, since I was using good quality synthetic anyway. Last summer I did a lot of riding (1000s of kms) on cheap Chinese 2-stroke bicycle engines. I wanted to experiment with the things I thought I knew about 2-strokes:

Cylinder/pistons are only $35 so I can port or destructively test all I want.
I broke it in at 16:1 on conventional oil and then switched to 50:1 synthetic. This resulted:

Yuck eh? Mind you these are thin chrome on soft aluminum, but it shows that synthetic is not magic.
In retrospect, even in my nicasil engines I have been replacing rings more than I would expect out of a 4 stroke. I played with oil ratios and found the little Chinese engine lived best at 32:1 to 24:1 ratios of any type of oil, castor bean oil being the best for compression, wear and power. This seems to align perfectly with Blaaster's experienced recommendations. I sheepishly bow in humble respect to Blaaster!
