Drain carb after each use?

So we got an 03 blaster for my daughter and she putted around with it a bunch of times then the engine blew. It was a brand new top end already. We took it in and the guy said it was either over revved too much or not enough oil.
So now we are paranoid and don't want it to happen again. We are trying to make sure she doesn't rev it out constantly but to make sure there is always enough oil do you guys drain the carb after each use then give the quad a shake after its been sitting?
We tried doing this by turning the fuel off and the quad revved hugely high which scared me so I went to turn it off with the slide switch (Key doesn't work) and it wouldn't even shut off.

Any answers/tips would be appreciated

what are you pre-mixing at?
or is oil injection still present?
what spark plug/gapped at what?
piston to cylinder clearence are not right as in people just keep putting piston in it without having the cylinder measured/bored correctly?
sounds like air leak
it is running lean somehow either
air leak
fuel flow problem
wrong jets in carb/and or dirty.
spark plug too hot or gapped to the point it is nearly touching:)
not sure where you are riding or how old daughter is but you can adjust the throttle stop
on thumb throttle for it not to rev too much/as a safety???

Are you trying to confuse the guy? He sounds like he is somewhat new to a Blaster...

Should be 32/1

Is there a small tank under the rear fender. Should look like this and have a black bracket around it

Don't know about this one. :)

sounds like air leak?
Do a leak test / buy leak test. I posted link to video.

fuel flow problem
Remove the fuel hose off the carb and see if fuel comes out of the hose from the tank. Is fuel coming out of the overflow on the carb?

wrong jets in carb/and or dirty.
Download the service manual.

0.7 - 0.8 gap

I would hope she is 16 or older. :) There is warnings on the quad about no one younger then 16. hehe

I'm sure the runaway was caused by me shutting the gas off and letting it run, what was weird is the slide switch not being able to turn it off. Yes I am mixing at 32:1. What is a good procedure for shut down and start up when the quad is going to be not run for a week or two?

Turning off the fuel to run the bowl dry leans out the mixture of fuel to air, not good. Just shut off the quad and then turn off the fuel supply.
I always add Stabil to my gas it stops the fuel from breaking down in the bowl and gumming it up.

Why not shut the quad off with switch and then turn fuel off and then open the drain screw on the carb to drain the fuel out of the carb and fuel line. If the bike is not getting used for a month of so?

maybe you can write something intelligent to help him?
instead of attacking me @Dick Weed and you are 116 yrs old????

okay so give him advice instead of attacking me......
wrong way to get attention on her dissing me
just tell your mom i had a good time last night then
thank her for paying for your cell-phone bill dick-weedo_O
and the fact someone liked that post is disturbing also.
why am i the 1st one to reply to the post?
It could still be in the ZERO reply post yah think?

You don't just run out of gas then get a fire hot enough to ignite the piston/pump up n down
without spark at all........
maybe Dick Weed could write a novel and explain it better.
Either you want a child's book or the truth.
Without me typing everything again search what Us real member's have wrote in previous threads
I have wrote hmmm lets see 3,785 post? search;)
