Greetings from South Africa!

The name is Rose - MR. Rose. Newly drafted member to the site, but a long time lurker!

Found I was coming here more and more often for help with my 2006 Blaster, so figured I'd join and at least give others the opportunity to learn from my ignorance ;)

I got 99 problems and the Blaster is... all of them.

Cheers!

Welcome to an awesome wealth of information!

I'm watching my bank account go down and I've only owned my Blasters for 3 weeks lol. Got to do a top end rebuild on my quad and a wheel bearing swap on my wife's Blasty.

Thanks to both of you!

This seems to be a common theme then! It raises an interesting philosophical question: If a blaster works perfectly in the woods, and no-one complains about a blown top-end... does it really happen...? :D

Welcome from accross the pond.

Keep it air tight, jet correctly, use a sensible oil ratio and a good oil and plug chop to confirm the jetting and all will be fine.

Thanks!

I won't be doing any racing, so I'll keep it stock where I can... For now I'm just trying to get it back to manufacturer spec. I've just recently found that the "air-tight" part... is an important part :)

A lot to ask from me, since I've only been here for like 10 minutes, but it seems to me it's definitely a problem with the thingamajig... Hit it from a 45 degree angle with a whatchamacallit, making sure not to gouge the whosimawhatchit! When reassembling, make sure you put alternating drops of blue and red loctite on there, if you're not sure if you'll want to remove it again or not :D

Seriously though - In general if something isn't lining up, it's usually a shim/spacer/washer that's been left off. Unless you just need to slacken your brake cable a bit...

But maybe a photo would help the guys who actually know what they're talking about diagnose the problem ;)
