House plan help/input

Been awhile since I updated this. Been working my but off around the property, and it is "mine" now, at least once I pay off the loan lol. We didn't finally close until beginning of the month, but I've been working on it all year, just haven't put any money in it until now. Spent over $3k this week! I'm gonna take a vid in a couple weeks to compare to the vid I took a year ago. Starting to get things really moving, just hope my savings don't run out before I can get it done! Put in close to 40 hours in the past 3 days playing on one of these guys. Only have 16hours on the machine so far (the rest was real work) , and I get it for 40. These machines can do alot of work fast! I've put alot of time on these rentals over the years, wish I could run one full time, but it hurts my back more than a shovel lol

So here's the vid from a year ago, and 2 from today of the property. We actually only closed on it a month ago, but I'd been working on it all year, just not putting any money into it.

I tried to put it so you can view em side by side, heres inside right now

Lol, Ive been working on a porch at work, but we're redoing a post n beam roof over it. 4x8's, 4x10's, 4x6's, and a 4x14 ridge beam, about 17' off the deck. Just me and one other guy. So didn't do much at the property this week. I've been wore out and sore. I've got until July, and then I've gotta get out of the place I'm in now. I've recruited my oldest daughter though lol. Between her basketball, softball, powerpuff football, babysitting, and making straight A's, I've got her working 4 hours a week for the next 2 years lol. Her payment? This guy when she gets her licence

Its hers... until she graduates HS. After that she either goes to college or takes over payments lol. Til then our its our gas saver, 32 mpg in the mountains is pretty bad@$$

I feel that pain... a house we take care of has roughly 200' of wrap around deck, roughly 1000 or so pickets, weve painted them 3 times in the last 15 years. We r just roll em. Wastes alot of paint with the sprayer, plus not much else is that color and the decks are stained.

Pouring footers tomorrow!!:D I'll be laying block by this weekend, and hopefully in about 2 weeks get the floor system down. Should be ordering trusses on Monday, and hopefully get the addition dried in b4 xmas. I'm going to end re-siding the entire house :(. It has t1-11 style plywood now, and best I can figure I would only be able to salvage about 8 sheets, due to my new floor plan. I'll use it all, scrapped together (but make it look good) in my garage I don't have the budget to build lol. Plus I found it has blackboard behind it, and that has got to go. More money to take out of my invisible budget. Luckily I know a guy with a sawmill, cuts good wood for cheap, so it will be board and batten when I'm done. Gotta thank lowes, I bought $1000 in lumber on my card, and before I got the bill, they had upped my limit another $1k. If they keep doing that, I'll have plenty of budget lol.

Footers are poured, 220 block to lay, and I can start framing. Been about 10 years since I've laid block, but should be just like riding a bike or blaster, except alot slower lol :D. At least I've been practicing on the rock. Almost have this job finished at work. Its been taking awhile, we've been going all over the last couple months, with "emergency" jobs, that take a few weeks

3 days later... 177 block laid, 43 to go. Thats pretty damn slow block laying, but I've been doing more than that too. Bought 150 of the block from my neighbor, and got my kids to brush em down and unload them, they been sitting on pallets for about 10 years. My footer is 16" below grade on the crawlspace side, 36" on the outside. Like trying to lay block in a ditch for the first 2 rows. Back is killing me. I'll get some pics up when I get the last row finished. Started raining on me today, but plugged on with plastic and tents, supposed to keep coming for a couple days.

Well I got my block finished, cores poured, j bolts set. I'd post pics, but I would have to get up and get my phone o_O Also got my trusses ordered. Working at work all weekend, but hoping to get existing foundation cleaned up and washed, so I can waterproof it along with the new section. Gotta get the existing house prepped for connecting the addition also, then I can start framing the floor!

Finally got a pic for you guys, lots of work over the past couple weeks. First pic is about 3 weeks ago, when I finished the block. Was actually 2 weeks ago when I set the sill plates for the addition.

And here's where I'm at today

Had a couple of friends that really came through, and almost worked as much as I did. I'm dried in, and thats what matters most. Almost broke though, luckily I have lots of materials. Going to be slow going from here on.

And here's a pic of that rock job from ^^^^, we finally got it finished up. Hopefully I'm done with rock for a couple years!
