any ways i am not sure on how to identify what i actually have. it is a 2002 with extended swing arm, rear banshee hubs, and a 240 is what i was told. however i see it has the stock intake and carb.. the hood is of awaiting a new reg. if you see something wrong please point it out. looking forward to sharing and learning from you guys!

its hard to tell by the pictures but it looks like a stock cylinder. if it is it should say y1 or y2 in the intake of the cylinder. the only way to tell if its is a 240 with a stock cylinder is to take the head off and measure the piston

Welcome ! By the looks of the rear brakes and frame ,,you have later model 03+ :). You can also tell the year by the vin#. That is a stock Yamaha cylinder, it could be a sleeved 240. Like stated above the only way to really tell with a stock cyl is by pulling the head and measuring the bore.

thanks for all the replies. i am not trying to nit pic, more of i want to full understand my machine. first thing i noticed was no skids. that isnt going to work for me. i do trail and woods riding, i need skids, it is on the post holidays "to do" list.

Second, i noticed is that if it is a 240 wouldnt that require more air flow? can the stock carb and filter handle the required air flow?

Third, am i missing a chain roller and guide on the rear?

i am open to suggestions and info. i got the bike on a trade from some good people i just want to know it inside and out and make it mine.

No you dont need a bigger carb for a 240....vitos includes a jet kit for the stock carb in their big bore kits

Yes you are missing the chain guide and the chain guide mounts on the rear....it looks like a stock swinger with a homemade extension welded on

thank you very much, this is the type of info i need to know. i will check the jet size when i pull the carb to clean it out.
