I recently rebuilt the motor on my blaster. It runs pretty well, butt will not operate well at high rpms. I can only run the motor in high rpms while in neutral or riding down a steep hill. I noticed that there as a hole on the right (kickstart) side of the carp that is threaded on the inside. It looks like an adjustment screw is missing. Is there suppose to be anything there? I also have not deleted the tors yet, but am not sure if that would cause this problem. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Haha I was sitting in the garage with a buddy having a few beers and wasn't sure what the hole was for so we just kept referring to it as the glory hole. It is an 1989 and has no mods and still running the injection system. I am just curious if there is suppose to be a screw in that whole. I have no idea what it could adjust since the air fuel screw and idle are there.

It's not used for anything. It's not even on the correct side for an idle speed adjust when eliminate the TORS.

Do you know what a glory hole is? If not, google it.

So I adjusted the fuel air screw. It was turned all most all the way in from the guy who had it before me. Runs great now, even with the crappy top end kit. Thanks guys!

I trust you adjusted as follows.

Idle speed adjustment.

Set float level, make sure that all jets are clean and fuel flows freely from the float bowl drain when the screw is cracked open.

Start with air screw 1.5 turns out.

Set idle screw so that it has some sort of idle. With TORS it is the big screw under seat on top of unit. With no TORS is is the brass screw midway down carb body.

Warm up motor and then set idle screw for a faster idle, 2000rpm+

Adjust air screw either way to get the fastest idle.

Adjust air screw a little at a time leaving 10 secs or until the motor responds.

Re adjust idle screw for desired idle .

I actually followed those exact instructions. I am not an expert on carbs so this did help since this one is payed out kinda strange with the tors. It runs and starts well. It honestly has more power than I expected. I had to sell my Ktm 450 and picked this up just so I could trail ride with my friends a few times a year. I'm 280 lbs so there are gonna be a few other things I need change or adjust, but it's still not as big of a down grade as I was expecting.
