Ok so here's the thing, I haven't spent money on the red rocket in like 2 weeks (graphics I'm waiting on don't count) and I've got the itch. I'm trying to upgrade pretty much everything and I think next should be A Arms.

The thing is I want standard travel arms, I'm already widened +4 in the front (and rear) I just don't like the stock arms, what can you guys suggest for me to get that is good looking/quality but not gonna be 400 dollars. I ride tight trails/fields on weekends.

Pretty much what I'm looking for is something that will just bolt right up, I just bought works off a banshee and LOVE them and need to be shown off with new arms, tie rods, joints.

Thanks in advance

The only aftermarket a arms that i know of under $400 are the Albas. They only add 1.5 inches on each side but you don't have to get extended brake lines. I heard people have problems with the upper a arm pinch bolt thingy but if you get the ball joints top and bottom and banshee spindles that would fix that

Yeah I wouldn't trust those pinch bolt adaptors things they use . Get the Banshee spindles...they're cheap on ebay . New alba a-arms with the banshee spindles will be like $ 265 . I might have to order some myself .

Ya that's what I thought figured I would ask anyway. I don't want to extend out anymore because the trails I ride are really tight as it is with pretty big drop offs at points.

I think what I will do is just pull them and get them powder coated to look nice and put some American star tie rods on, pretty content with staying standard on the A arms it sits perfect for me right now. Guess I can use some new front rims anyway.

This thread is going fast in a downward spiral. 1st of all, you mention +4 front and back. Wheel spacers? Although many people buy cheap wheel spacers and think everything is great, I personally hate them. The added leverage on the spindle, makes any little root, berm, or trail side wall, yank the steering hard to full lock. You are much better off with wider A arms and negative offset wheels.

You mention powder coating stock A arms. Stock A arms have plastic in the ball joints. If you stick them in an oven, the plastic will melt and the A arms will be junk. Supposedly, some powdercoaters can use heat lamps to cure the powder, but I personally wouldn't risk my life on them.

Well then powder coating is not gonna happen then. I felt the same way about spacers at first, wouldn't even think about buying them but I think his name is quadracer? Has them, races with them and has pics hitting 30 ft. Jumps with them.

I ended up buying the alba ones and they are solid as hell and haven't had any issues so far in the trails I ride. My thing is I feel it sits perfect for how I ride and where I ride and I don't wanna change that.

Honestly if your happy with the spacers then don't get the arms right now. I went back and forth for a long time, then I got some EXTRA cash so I got them. Hit them with some paint for now to cure the itch. Heck, get yourself a rebuildable steering stabilizer to help with bump steer, or the bars getting twisted out of your hands.

I honestly haven't had any issues with bump steer, nothing too extreme at least, but I didn't take it to the pits just tight trails. I do want to get a steering stabilizer though. I mean is it worth getting those American star tie rods or are the stock ones just fine? They just look weak to me but I don't really know.

You have to get the ball joints with them. I actually have two rods for the 12mm ones they sell. Stock length. I'd be willing to part with them. All you would need is the ends. They are a little scratched up but still functional.

A little adjustment to the toe will combat most of the bump steer you may experience.

Good point, that's true. It wont get rid of it but it will help. If you do get a steering stabilizer try and get a rebuildable one if the funds permit. Sounds like the Alba A arms were just what you needed. They prob look allot better than the stock ones too. We get no pics ? Come on Pudvah , You know better than that :p :D...

Almost forgot, there is a set of billet tie rods on E bay.. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Yamaha-Blas...ods-/120498540049?hash=item1c0e45ce11&vxp=mtr

Just remember, certain parts are made to fail/bend under certain stress etc.. If you strengthen one part (like a cheap tie rod) the breaking point might be at something more expansive and or more dangerous. Just something to think about.

Exactly. I consider the tierod to be like the fuse in an electrical system. Obviously a really hard hit is going to bend the frame no matter what, but a medium size hit with a weak tierod, may just save the frame. Now in a racing situation where you're out to win at any cost, yeah, put beefy tierods in it and forge on no matter what's bent.

Wait what am I taking pics of? Lol. I mean if all that is true would the best thing be to just keep my stock arms and rods and get a rebuildable stabilizer ?

I would. Adjust your toe and get a stabilizer. They are awesome! I got a 16 way adjustable one by Fabtek. It was on sale and the few more bucks than the 11 way Streamline.

Thought u said you bought new alba a arms?

No alba spacers, I was looking to buy aftermarket arms but wanted stock length. Not for any performance reasons I just don't like how the stock ones look and thought they were weak.
