Alright so it is time to replace a ball joint and I priced stock a-arms new and they are kinda pricey (all 4)so if I'm gonna spend that much on stock I found out I can get extended a-arms for relatively the same price - so my question is would it be better to go with alba or ASR?- and what options does that leave me for shocks? I'm running banshee fronts at the moment- I only trail ride so racing applications don't really matter

Everyone seems to like ASR arms.

s for shocks, you can buy new or used. If you buy new, you have the luxury of having your shocks setup for you and your machine (huge advantage). If not, a set of floats would be awesome since you don't have to worry about spring rates.

i have ASR arms on my quad the only issue i had with them was the heim joints they gave me (12 in total) they all seized up on me i finally gave up and over the winter i got banshee spindles and went to sealed ball joints and that fixed the problem i don't know why they all froze up i tried keeping them clean and oiling them did all sorts of crap followed what they told me to do as far as care goes (only trail riding and ripping it round the yard) still no luck but like i said once i when to the sealed units they are great i will say this even although i kept on having problems with the heim joints i would call them up and i would have a brand new set in 2 days there customer service was great they never hesitated once to help out

Same here, (8 heims total). If you go with asr's. Make sure you get the mxpro arms. They have the automotive style ball joints on them.

If you do order them, give them a call to do so. Its a lot easier to understand what all needs done talking with someone rather than typing in emails!

I second the ASR's. I run them with banshee spindles and sealed ball joints. They are a great product at a reasonable price. And yes their customer service rocks! That's always a plus.

I'm not too familiar with what all goes into the a arm setup but I was also looking at ASR arms. Sounds like running the banshee spindles and sealed ball joints are the best option.

My question is, can you put banshee spindles on the 03+ blasters? Is it just a straight bolt up?

if you are getting asr a arms or any other aftermarket a arms and want the sealed ball joints you have to use banshee or yfz450 spindles

and definatly get the sealed ball joints... i too have had problems with there hiem joints no matter what i did and like everyone else has stated there customer service is awesome

you will need after market a arms ... everything else from a 03 + blaster bolts right up to the banshee spindles...not sure if u would need different hubs for the yfz450 spindles but everything else is the same

Sorry, I probably didn't state it clearly before but I meant that I was wanting ASR a arms and it sounded like their a arms with sealed ball joints all around on banshee spindles was the best option. So buying the banshee spindles and ASR sealed ball joint a arms is all I need and its all bolt on?

OK. Thanks for clearing that up. I've been waiting on getting a arms because I didn't know much about them and also because I want the long travel but don't want to spend an arm and a leg on shocks

I did spend an arm and a leg and wish I'd spent more. There are no words in the english language that describe just how important a top notch suspension setup is. Run them as wide as possible with the longest shock possible.

If you can swing it, go with Evols. They're not the absolute best, but you can manipulate the air pressure (similar to changing spring rates on sprung shocks) and you can dial them better than the actual best. That way, you don't have to worry about spending $1700 on a set of Custom Axis and getting them with just a so-so setup. Get the Evols and you'll be set.

I bought used works and loved them. I got way faster with them. I broke those and went to Elka, now I'm about as fast as I'm gonna get until I start practacing religiously.

DO NOT SKIMP ON SUSPENSION.

I just do trail riding and ended up scoring a set of yfz450 front shocks outta the for sale section on this forum for I think 180 or 200 had them rebuilt was way better than the pos stock shock you can find them on ebay too just make sure you have the long travel arms if you do it
