What do you guys think about the vitos 240 is the cylinder all ready ported if I buy this kit is this all I need?

For the same price you could get a used jug, and it get ported/polished. That will give you better power than a unported 240. And you get more bores. I think you only get 3 with the Vito's.

what size carb would be the best for port and polish with fmf power core 2 with open air box kandn

all cylinders can be port and polished I would stay away from that cylinder you posted.. I would go with OEM and either port and polish your current cylinder or find another stock one

Yes this time the thing on the piston that keeps it from rotating broke and the ring rotated and snagged exhaust port but didn't damage the cylinder at all and it's ten times worse

Here it is

IMO, there is no replacement for displacement.
A Dremal and a few bits, you can clean up most all casting flaws.
Might not net exactly what others may claim, but will be close and wont cost as much. If you have to buy a clinder, and can fund it, why not?

Could have sworn someone was going to get one of those aftermarket cyl and give an opinion on them as to fit and finish

What carb do you guys recommend for a port job?

Depends on port job, pipe, and riding "style" Have seen stock cyl using anywhere from stock to 35mm

So this was the supplied piston with the aftermarket cyl? You're certain the locating pin let go? What was your ring end gap when asembled?

As time goes on it will get harder to find good used cyl, and how long yammy will hace stock cyl available. So these aftermarket cyl probably will become the only choice. It may be best to have them bored to first oversize and fitted with a good piston.

I was thinking of an aggressive trail port I have an fmf gold series and open air box with kandn what carbs do you guys run? And also would I have to Jet it?

Yes this was a namura piston came with the cylinder I'm going to go up a bore and put a wiseco piston in it

Alright what kind of carb is most common for port jobs and anyone know what size carb I should get and jets?
