Anyone ever use this cylinder kit?

I would love to give this kit a try. I would port it and match it with a re-chambered head. Obviously I would also chamfer the ports after seeing the photos (that goes with the porting any way). I still say that there is nothing like OEM Japanese parts. Just my opinion. As for the Namura piston,... I say Its good to go, but then again I prefer CAST pistons. As long as the piston to cylinder clearance is correct, I believe it would run a long time. Right out of the box,... it,.... without question, needs port chamfering. I still need to "SEE" where the "cylinder broke off in my bottom end" pictures. I find that hard to believe.

I still have this kit, its been a year and still no problems about 500 - 700 miles on it so far!!

Thanks for the up-date blaster003. I figured that it was still running good. I would still like to see pictures from the other guy, where the cast iron cylinder liner "broke off" and fell into the engine. Yeah right.

Went on a ride today made a buzz springing sound in topend died wouldn't start I had to roll start and it has no power now and won't idle has 50 psi on the compression

Did you heat cycle and do a proper break in, also a leak test ? Take a look into exhaust port and intake and look for damage. you will obviously be pulling the top end. Take pics and report back of your findings.

Here it is

I would say that it wasn't chamfered. When you look at pics of those cyls it doesn't look like any of them are chamfered and if you didn't do it yourself than im sure it wasnt. X2 it looks like the exhaust port snagged the ring/rings.

I just got this kit in today and, like many of you have already stated, the ports look terrible. I am going to chamfer them in the next week or two. Most of these kits do come with a one year warranty. That won't do you much good when you are stuck on the side of the trail and have to walk back.

i doubt the "manufacturer/seller" holds true to those

I have bought one of these Chinese vostors cylinders for 92$ and it came with a cheesy piston, almost like a fake namurea. i have to say the porting is unfinished , i would not even attempt to run it with out champhering the ports . i see it is only worth it if you already have a dremal, a flex cable attachment, a carbide bit , some stones and patients. luckily my friend let me borrow his dremal in return for fixing his window motor in his bronco so i was in luck :D
while i was at it i added some boysen ports, carved up the base side of the cylander ports to improve flow due to sloppy casting and enlarged and kinfe edged the intake bridged section.

so far i put 7 hours on the cylinder and i soft seized it due to crappy gas station brand 2stroke oil . the crappy oil also caused my pw80 and a friends KX250 to soft seize. on the contrary it was running mint since i got it

Describe a "soft seize"

Most piston seizes are caused by poor jetting, incorrect oil ratios and inadequate warm up time.

Poor quality oil is usually responsible for excessive wear but seldom will cause a seize.

I also wanted to comment that the customer service through parts ace is very good, but their solution to every problem is to send you a new kit... So now I have 2 of them

I haven't used that 1 but I just did a blaster for a customer,he bought a cylinder/top end kit from ebay for I believe around 239 and it had a resleaved oem jug vitos ss piston and good gaskets,so far so good

This is exactly what I need to buy but I can't seem to find any. I want to rebuild the whole top end so I can avoid boring out. Can you point me in the direction of where I might find one of these kits?
