HELP

Ok. So the rebuild kit came with all new gaskets, Needle, Air fuel mixture needle spring and oring, and new jets. I will let you guys know on Monday what jets are in it now so if I need to I can order a few of them. I know not to by the kit as they don't ever come with the ones you need. If their is anything I should look out for let me know. Ill take pics as I go along.

I don't know what rebuild kit you got, but its prob better to stick with the needle thats in there. We can help you get the jetting right, for having the lid off, which will give you some more power, its really not that difficult. As long as you plug chop, you can't go wrong

There was a modded air box lid on it before and it didn't like the extra air. The guy who jetted it said the blue chops came back bad with it so now it's got a stock air box lid. When I get the new carb the lid will go away. I'll post picks of the carb and see what you guys think I should do before I put it togethor again.

I am interested to hear what jetting is in there for such a big motor.
I know this is a silly question but is there not really any other guys with anything bigger then a 240? I know KOR built a 300 but I don't know where that project ended up at. I thought there would be more 265 but I've only found like 6 others. It's a whole Lotta try to kill you power so that may be why nobody wants to ride them. They are a handful but their great motors.

It is kinda crazy but I don't know of anyone but you currently riding a 265. I completely forgot they even made a 265. I don't think they do anymore. Maybe that's why you don't see any.

I know it is pricey to do a build like that normally so maybe it's the fact that if you wanted that power out of a 2 stroke, you could do it easier and maybe cheaper by just getting a banshee or 250r.

I'm not really sure, that's just my take on it. I'm curious too as to why you never see the 265 bb as well.

Wow. I figured more people would have built them. My dad's a wheeler and dealer and picked up the top end from a guy who built his bike for his 8 year old son. Kinda crazy to let your 8 year old son ride something with this much power but his loss my gain. He blew up his motor because he didn't premix. But nothing a little honing and a wiseco piston couldn't fix.

Ken has built 2 engines with a 6mm crank. One with a stock 200cc cylinder that was in his personal blaster that's been sold, and dualstroke has the second one with a 240cc cylinder in his secondary dragger that he lets a younger fellow race at the dirt drags in Maine.

I don't think anyone has done the math to come up with an actual displacement on either engine.

The stock 200 would be about a 215 starting at a 66mm then up from there. The 240 is around a (72mm= 257cc)--(270cc 74mm) dependent on the bore .... I wants me a 270.. :D

So, the question to trintyblaster is.....how are you coming up with 265cc ?
I see you said your dad picked up the top end, but without the 6mm crank, its not displacing 265cc, and is just another 240-ish.

Back in the day when these top ends were advertised as big CC, they were really just 240cc when max bored, to go above that you had to read the fine print, which stated this/that CC....when used with a +4 or +6 crank.

A 90's trinity 265 bb? what size piston would that be and where to find one ??

Figured it out,, a 3 mill and 75 mm piston would make a 265. Im not sure what there "kit" consisted of and or if the kit configured in a +3 crank or if it was all in the bore/ piston size.. Trinityblaster might know and some pics would be great. :)

Yes a 240 (72mm piston) with a +6 would be 257cc and the stock bore and +6 would be a 215cc.

A 240 bb really is just a 232. Do the math on a 72mm piston with stock 57mm stroke and they come out to 232 so maybe that kit was rounding heavily like they do on a 240 kit. Even if you bore it and use the 73mm piston vitos sells it will only be a 238.5cc.
