Lt 50

:D....yeah there is not much info on those, unless a dealer can tell you.
did you try dumping oil in cylinder to see if it bumped up the compression? worth a shot it will tell you summin:)
If it goes up what does that mean? Are you suppose to do a test after it's been warmed up or cold? I've always done them cold.

it means it is leaking compression past the rings:)
cold or hot.not sure..i think text book style would be hot:)
im not even sure if this is 2 stroke or 4stroke lol?what is it?
your only option is cold cuz it wont start right lol
i do it cold most the time

2 stroke. If it's leaking past the rings replacing them would cure it if the piston and cylinder looks good?

No it starts. I may be having the hard start problem because the petcock is vacuum ran. After time the diaphragm goes bad and you can never really shut the gas off. Before I disassembled the carb it was overflowing periodically. So I think after it sat for awhile it may have been flooding out the bottem end making it hard to start. The joys of troubleshooting.

tell yah the truth i was sick of messing with my sons 90cc quad so when it would not start i tip if up on the front bumper straight upndown till it started, then rested the rear on a bicycle helmet to let rear wheels spin till it would idle on it own lol, maybe the opposite case in my situation,i also took the on/off petcock off of his cuz it was a pain to get to it.
really hard chinese carb setup on his:eek:
cheap pic for you lol

Cool pic!

So some good and bad news....always. After de-restricting the intake, removing second pilot jet, and cleaning the baffle it pulls real nice. It's still hard to start. And the a/s is only 1/2 a turn out. Needle is on the 4th from the top. But I did find a leak which I believe is from the head gasket because I just fitted a new exhaust gasket. That explains the compression. I did take a look at the piston from the exhaust and there's a scar in it. Looks like a top end rebuild. Little bit bummed for my sons.
