Lt 50

Ok. I did a compression test and it was just at 80 psi. I think it's fine. The carb inside was horrible. Very pitted. I couldn't even get the float pin out. I found one on ebay. Is there a way to check to oil pump? To make sure it's working.

The only way I know of testing the oil pump is to put some premix in the fuel tank and pull off the injector line and see if it drips oil while running.

Ok. The tank is gravity fed it seems before it enters the crankcase. Unless the pump creates a vacuum or something. I don't know. I guess I could always eliminate it, but then I may have to go through rejetting it.

I left the injection system alone on my kids. What I did do to mine was remove the restrictions in the intake and the exhaust. There is also a stacked main jet in the carb, rejetting simply requires removing the top jet.

So if I do the restricted manifold and pilot jet de-restriction, the main doesn't need to be changed? That may be a good starting point. Maybe I'll get some larger jets and do the exhaust to.

Wait there's two main jets as well? Is the one on top smaller then the bottom one?

The top jet is smaller. If you remove the restriction in the inlet after the carb and the one on the exhaust coming off the head, remove that first main jet and you should be all set up. The quad will greatly improve in performance.

Alright perfect. I did notice in the schematics there's a plate type thing with a hole in it that goes in the exhaust at the flange. Maybe a restriction or a crush gasket?

And I did recheck my compression. The first time I tightened the tester with my fingers. But the second time I used a wrench and got 90-91 psi. So that's better. In hoping the hard starts I'm having are due to the carb and not compression. I'll know after I fit the new carb. Thanks for all your info on this thing. Much appreciated.

That is a restricter. I would think 90 lbs. would be good for the compression. My son could pull start his after it was warm. I remember it pulling pretty easy.

It was a great little quad. Wish I would have saved it for my granddaughters. I was amazed at the mud it would go through. The only bad part was the location of the spark plug. I would recommend some dielectric grease on the plug and plug wire.

Yea I read that to. I'm gonna see how it runs after the new carb. If it runs I'm gonna wait until the beginning of the year, and send it to KOR to get a bore, hone, piston along with my head to get rechambered.

:D....yeah there is not much info on those, unless a dealer can tell you.
did you try dumping oil in cylinder to see if it bumped up the compression? worth a shot it will tell you summin:)
