I grew up on dirt bikes but the newer one are a lot taller. I'm not long legged so there a bit of a problem for me. I was on my toes with the 250 and couldn't even touch the ground on a friend's KX 500.
it is good to have both quad and bike,i had a yz50 and blaster at the same time for awhile,and it is good to have both,alot of thing are easier on the blaster,then the bike,both are fun,although i found it kind of dangerous when i would ride with my kids on there toys and me on the 250

I'll would race that with my Blaster in a grass field but you have to keep the race slicks.
