Did a lot of searching across the forum and did not find a comprehensive answer. So I have Burgard A-Arms +2 +1. I have drum brakes on the front and eventually want to go to hydro brakes. This may be sooner now that I have a bent left front spindle. Is it possible without tons of fab work to use a hydro setup from a YFZ 450 with these arms? Teixeira Tech sells the YFZ 450 Ball joints for the upper not sure what would be used for the lower maybe the Ricky Stator RS3003. Is this feasible? I have seen a lot of pro's and con's of the modified banshee spindles nd am not sold on that solution as my sons safety is paramount when he is racing. Trying to find a better way if possible to skin this cat.

Just say no to reamed/modified banshee spindles. :)

The ken Oconnor hydro conversion spindles are what I and most others run. They allow the use of almost all Yamaha sport quad hydro parts.

If you'd like to switch up ball joints, most any make /model spindle and hydro parts could be used?

Ok have sourced some local YFZ 450 spindles with LSR shafts. What about geometry wise? I do not have them in hand but based on pictures looks similar but potentially shorter?

So what specifically will prevent them from working on the Blaster without a ton of work? I have access to all the parts from brake level down but don't want to waste the time or money chasing something that isn't viable or safe.

Burgard a-arms never came with a pinch style ball joint. They always used reamed shee spindles. Which are perfectly fine to run. imo The ones you currently have does it have the pinch style ball joint on top or does it use a castle nut? Just curious. Maybe someone changed them out if it does use the pinch style?

Uses the Castle nut type ball joint. I see where you are going with this and I just happen to have a spare set of Warrior Spindles in the garage. I believe this is my best path forward for a hydro front setup. As the current setup with the Blaster spindles puts the bottom ball joint at a less than desired angle.

Yes sir. I would ream out those warrior spindles and run them. I have run a burgard setup with shee spindles for years with not one single issue.

Reamed out the warrior spindles with the correct reamer. I was surprised on how little material had to be removed to work with the Burgard ball joints. We now have hydro front brakes. Have a like Dualstroke since can't throw you no green.

Awesome!! Glad it worked out for you and was a very simple fix. Nice job getting it done. :)

Another benefit of switching to the Warrior spindles is the ability to add YFZ 450 dual piston calipers as a bolt on. They work great.

I bought use extended arms on E-bay, seems like someone here ID'd them as Burgard. They were definitely for drum brakes, when I mounted the stock Blaster front hydro's to them the disk hot the lower arm where the spindle goes through. Had to machine my hubs and and make spacers for my caliper to get everything to clear.

dksix you may not have Burgard arms. I've had a set from 98/99 that I ran drum spindles like almost everbody on the forums back then and I switched over to 03 Blaster spindles/brakes in 04/05 and only had to ream the lower spindle ball joint hole.
