Last night I swapped frames, went to a 03+ frame. The previous owner put on a flat slide carb with K&N filter. There is an aluminum bracket between the filter and carb which is supposed to bolt to something. On the old frame, someone welded a mount onto the frame. Was there something else...

Is there a way to look up the engine number and match it to the VIN? I know some units were like that, others not. I think yamaha did this with snowmobiles.... cant remember.

I need a fresh frame for my 06, would prefer an 06 but will take an older one as long as its from a 03 or newer... whenever they added disc brakes. Sorry for posting here, wont let me post under the WANTED. Post count is not high enough.

Where is the vin on a 2006 frame? looking at one that has been painted or powdered and I see no numbers anywhere ??? Is it the same as the engine number?

Where is the VIN on a 2006 blaster? I have a 92 and the numbers are stamped on the side of the frame behind the front left tire (if I remember correctly). A yahoo search brought me to a page that states they put a sticker on the frame with the vin, no die stampings. Is this correct?
