How much would a bottom end rebuild cost?

The Hot Rods main bearing/seal kit costs $66.99 from DennisKirk.com
The Moose Racing crank bearing/seal kit is $58.95 from DennisKirk.com
Wiseco is probably around the same as those. You can always find brand new un-opened parts on ebay for cheap. Maybe this will help you out alil.

I had a Yamaha dealer rebuild mine and I will do my own stuff from now on. They charge way to much and take way too long. You can do it yourself with a Clymer`s manual and the help of other members on here as long as you have the tools to do it.

my piston shattered, the crank spins easy, but when the rod extends to the top it stops and you gotta put a medium amount of pressure to spin it back around to get the crank around, what could it be?

sounds like u could have some pieces in the bottom end but that sounds like the bearings r junk proably have metal pieces all in them. i would pull it apart urself wouldnt take long and inspect.

If your going to tear it apart u mite as well replace the bearings and crank, it wil b worth it in the long run

I just finished rebuilding mine from the exact same thing. The crank spun just fine with no apparent grinding, but once torn apart, the pieces that broke off the piston had been ground up by the crank spinning, and damaged the actual case.

With the case weld, new crank, and labor for just those two items (I disassembled the transmission gears and took the engine out myself which apparently saved me about $100), it cost me $654 with tax and all.

oh yeah, def do that sh*t yourself! even including the cost of the tools you'll need, it's still WAY cheaper than paying some stealer mech to do it.
there are some pretty good vids on youtube (look up bottom end rebuild) and prob half the guys in here have done it.
