I have a Yamaha blaster that sat for a while that needed a top end. Finally got it all together and running but when I went to ride it I put it in gear and it would move forward an inch or two then stop and wont go any farther. I had this problem with a previous blaster and it was the clutch so it was the first thing I replaced. It still won't move and I have no idea what it could be. please help

dots aligned in the clutch ?

pointer on actuator arm aligned with notch on case under carb ?

I figured it out ..the dots were not aligned and after I aligned them it would go into gear and move fine but the clutch would not work..turns out the bolt in the center needed tightened so the clutch would move.. thank you for the help

that bolt in the middle adjusts the internal rod so the actuator on the other side pushes the pressure plate out the correct distance to disengage the clutch plates. the rod should be adjusted with the slot in it's end, until the pointer on the actuator arm aligns with the notch on the case as pictured above, then tighten the nut to hold it in place. I like a little blue loctite on the threads, clean off the oil with brake cleaner first.
do this with the cable disconnected at either end so it doesn't effect the alignment.
if you just tightened the nut without doing the alignment ? it could be out of proper adjustment and not allowing the pressure plate to engage completely and will wear out your clutch plates from excess slipping, even if you can't feel it until it's too late.
