Hello all.

My name is Geoff/blaster15. Live here in central California. I’m new to this forum and just wanted to introduce myself. I love this forum and the knowledge and advice is absolutely insane about blasters.

I have lived here my whole life, started riding when I was 12 yrs old. First quad was a 2002 blaster. My dad bought two of them. one for me, one for my brother. Mine got stolen. never found it and then bought my brothers that was blown up.

It is now a project that has been a mystery. This is where I hope you experts can help. The motor was completely blown.

What has been done.

Complete wiseco bottom end
Wiseco top end w/ 66.50 wiseco piston
.20 bored over
27mm carb (stock)
Stock pilot ( 32.5)
Main jet - 320
Vforce 3 reeds
Reed spacer
Toomey B1 full exhaust
CFM high flow air box
K&N air filter

The carb has been completely cleaned and float set to 21mm. I got it to start and idles fine with the air screw turned 11/4

This is where it gets strange;
I did a compression test on it and it came back between 70 and 80 Lbs. no leaks from what I can tell because it held pressure for 3 minutes and never moved. This is where I’m kinda stump, I did the heat cycles and took it up the road to make sure it went through all gears. Which it did.

Is this normal or ok?
Should i continue to ride it?

Any help is appreciated.

welcome bud:)
i don't think it would start with only 70 psi
it could be your comp gauge is lying.TRY a different gauge if needed
preety sure stock carb is 26mm:Dor someone ''bored it 1mm over''
what is wrong with quad sounds like it is okay?????

Thank you.
Nothing is wrong at this point, just thought it was strange that it starts with such low compression. Thought it could be something else I’m not aware of. I will test with a different gauge.

FYI, guage has to have Schrader valve at end of hose. Threaded section must be as long as threaded section of a plug.
How to do it: throttle wide open, kick until gauge stops moving.

Recall someone with HF gauge, read 60psi no matter what he tried it on.

Welcome to the forum. If its a Harbor Freight compression tester, chances are it will never go past 70psi! They are known crap out of the box.

Sounds like you have about everything else figured out well :)
