Xcalibur pipe testing and tuning!

The Xcalibur pipe, its a stainless steel big bore stroker pipe!

After removing my CT Racing pipe and installing my Xcalibur pipe I put a 165 main jet in my 35mm PWK carb.

The 165 main jet was giving me a rich bog at wide open throttle with my CT pipe. So i decided it would be a safe start for my Xcalibur pipe.

The sound of the Xcalibu pipe is similar to the CT pipe.

With the CT pipe i had a dead spot off the bottom a little before the powerbad kicked in.
With my Xcalibur pipe that dead spot is GONE!

The Xcalibur pulled harder through the mid range and kept revving!

I put a 168 main jet in. It kept revving!!
I put a 170 main jet in. It kept revving!!!
I put a 172 main jet in. It kept revving!!!! But i think i lost some mid range power with this jet in?

I got a 175 and 178 on ebay, and should see them in 4 days.

The power come on about the same as the CT pipe. With out the dead spot and a little stronger and keeps on revving. It may run even better when i get it tuned properly? :confused:
 
Very very nice looking work! Big props to you for sticking with it and building a bad azz looking pipe. Although I was hoping to see a rpg looking pipe with a rustoleum can as the silencer! lmao
 
I gave the 175 main jet a try but was not revving it out hard and i may of started to feel the rich bog!
So i put the 178 main jet in and BAM obvious rich bog!
Went back to the 175 and revved it out hard and was able to feel the rich bog when riding at WOT for about 1sec!
Went back to the 172 main jet and i think depending on humidity temperature and elevation that this jet will give me a rich bog.
So i will start plug chop with the 172 and work my way down. I will probably end up around 170 or 168 in the end.
With the CT pipe i was running about a 160, 162 with this pipe im running around a 172, 170 or 168!
 
So this is the pipe you asked for dimensions on how long ago?

Surprised nobody has any questions about it.

So I guess you can explain why an exact copy worked different from the parent ?

I never asked for dimensions on any pipe? Exact copy of what? There is nothing worth copying out there!

I am also surprised of the lack of interest in this post?

If I was to make a pipe it would not be a copy of anything out there. It would be a pipe made for my motor!!
 
Hey Learryshee I remember years ago and I think it was Awk that posted measurements of his Trinity pipe? Is that what your talking about? I remember that prick slickrat asking to come to my shop and use my hand rolls to make one.
I have a CT Racing pipe that's about the same pipe as the Trinity pipe. I would not copy that!

How pipes work (or don't) is fastinating.
Put a Vito's Pro-stock piston in an engine using a stock pipe, pulled amazingly down low, but just when it got to the point of putting a two stroke smile on your face, it stopped pulling like you flipped a switch :(

No offence taken, you are just asking questions and I think I know the pipe post your talking about.

Now are you accusing me of making this pipe, does it look that BAD??? :eek:
 
It was JoeAK that I posted all those demensions for. It never happened as far as I know.

I got questions, but will see and ask them in person....soon :)
