Anyone ever run 110 leaded octane in their blaster? I was debating on trying it so my bike runs cooler in the hot weather. Or should I stick with 94 unleaded? Also, I do not have any head mods and I'm mixing my fuel 32:1 so I know that will drop the octane a couple points as well.

Stick with the 94 and re jet rather than run an octane rating which will loose you power.

If you do not have the compression to need to use a high octane fuel it is a sheer waste of money.

Yeah, it is quite pricey at $8 a gallon. I was planning on sticking with 94, just wanted to hear what others thought. Out of curiosity, say I did run race fuel. would the only downside be that I loose power? Would it damage my engine since I don't have the proper compression to ignite it efficiantly?

It could promote plug fouling.

It could cause carbon buildup.

It could cause excessive engine wear as the endgine may not get yup proper operating temperature.

Pre-detonation is caused by : lower octane fuels, igniting due to unstability. That's the reason for high octane fuels in racing engines that have higher compressions, so the fuel does not ignite just from heat and compression. The fire field burning across the piston top, is slowed down because higher octane fuels burn more evenly. 112 ,113 octane fuels under full throttle conditions will generate raised piston top temps and raised exhaust pipe/silencer temps due to engine RPM's are usually maxed out conditions! It will purge the spooch out of the silencer if you've been running a oily mixture previously! Beware use pure gasoline , NO ETHENOL enriched gas!
