Hand guard?

I use my white knuckles with riding gloves for my hand guards. lol Im not a big fan of hand guards as I think they get in the way of my riding style. Curious to hear your thoughts on them.

I was never a big fan of hand guards on a atv because they make me feel restrictive.
But if i was riding a dirt bike i would want those wraparound bark buster hand guards because without them i would be wiping out and braking clutch perches all the time! lol

I cannot picture how handguards could restrict your riding?

Maybe my riding style is just a bit too relaxed?

Seriously, they are very light and tough enough to protect the levers on a rollover.
They also keep my fingers from getting pinched when I hit a tree or branch.
Most importantly they keep my fingers protected from roost rocks.

How do they restrict you?

If your not used to those wraparound style barkbuster type of hand guard they can be very annoying and restrictive! But they have big advantages!

Due To the fact there was a shortage of BB CT pistons i was stuck riding a Kawasaki Lakota when i was riding the Hatfield and Mccoy trails. The Lakota had some type of wraparound hand guard, and that weekend i realized that when i released from the handlebars that i released off the side. I kept hitting my side of my hand and pinky off the guard! A dumb habit hard to break!!
I also had the habit of pulling in the left brake lever every timer i shifted! lol

I also watched a acquaintance go over his handle bars and the wraparound hand guard messed his hands all up!!
If the wraparound hand guard did not swing down on the bars do to not tightening them up all the way he probably would of broken his hands!

I got some O.G. powermadd wrap around bark busters from my dads cannondale, will send a pic later. Profile pic is old pic so doesn't have all the good mods on it ;)

Thats not a stock motor is it? Lol, looks like a 250 dirtbike motor.

It is a KTM 250 motor. Look back to my early posts on this forum for all the details.
I have a stock Blaster and a bored and stroked Blaster as well as the KTM powered one.
Just can't get enough of them.
Nice, my dad had one with a rm 250 motor, it was mean.

I did not have much room on the thumb throttle side of the bars for the hand guard mount, because of the extra width of the clamp on hand grips. So i had to under cut the throttle box and do some welding on the inside and more grinding on the outside to make room!
