If after I do a leak test and if theres no leaks and a plug chop and its perfect what else can I check that would cause overheating? I was at my friends house yesterday and he said his blaser NEVER gets as hot as mine does (enough to boil water on the head)

Overheating is caused mainly by incorrect jetting or an obstruction to air flow.

If an engine is airtight and jetted correctly it should not overheat unless you are working it hard at low speed.

IF..BIG IF... its leak free, jetted properly with confirmation of plug chop, you shouldnt be overheating. Remember, this is an AIR COOLED engine. Letting it sit at idle for an hour WILL cause damage from overheating. It needs air moving across the heat fins in order to cool the motor.

IF you do a leak test and there are no leaks, and IF you get your carb set to specs and IF you set your idle correctly, and IF you plug chop to confirm jetting. it WILL NOT overheat unless you putt around on it or let it sit and idle for long periods of time.

There are a lot of ifs here and no confidence you will do any of it.

Jbuckster07 you beat me too it. LOL!

And IF all of that happens with needing NO adjustment, you are lying to us. like said, those are the ONLY causes to overheating

Built my own leak Tester. Turned out really good. Using it as I speak. Will let know results in a bit

First thing I did haha. Anyways I found a leak on top of the carb/reed boot. Just like you said. How do I go about fixing this can I un warp the boot or do I need a new one
