Where is the Idle screw on a 2003 Blaster , I found the Idle Mixture Screw but can't find the Idle adjustment screw , it seems like there are threads for one but it is not drilled all the way through , do you adjust it with the throttle cable? thanks.

Top of your carb cap, there's a thing attached to it, prob the size of the carb itself.
It's part of the TORS system, there's an idle know right on top of it.

unless someone took the tors unit off and didnt put a idle screw in

other wise yeah take the seat off and move that rubber flap up by the tank and the knob should be right there.

That explains a lot. I wish I had known that a few weeks ago when I got my new Blaster without a TORS.

its the massive thing that is n the very top of your carb trace your throttle cable down and it runs right into it unless someone removed it

It is all stock , so I will look for the adjustment , I just put in a new piston , rings , upper rod bearing and all gaskets , it just is idling a bit slow , thanks for the information.

ok then just follow your throttle cable down and it will go into it and there will b a big flat way screw turn it to adjust your idling

Thanks for the explanation!I:I i was adjusting the copper one next to the carb. lol hopefully it will start up faster now (i just have to give it a little gas to idle right)

I am having the same problem aswell but mine wont idle at all and the idle screw just keeps on turning it never stop?

You cant just turn the screw willy-nilly...

Turn it all the way in (clockwise) then back it out 2 turns.

it should be somewhat close. clockwise makes it idle higher, counter lower. Once you get an idle, only adjust in 1/8 turns, wait 8-12 seconds before turning more

It may pay to start a new thread if the following does not help.

Idle adjusting.

Set float level.

Start with air screw 1.5 turns out.

Set idle screw so that it has some sort of idle. With TORS it is the big screw under seat on top of unit. With no TORS is is the brass screw midway down carb body.

Warm up motor and then set idle screw for a faster idle, 2000rpm+

Adjust air screw either way to get the fastest idle.

Adjust air screw a little at a time leaving 10 secs or so until the motor responds.

Re adjust idle screw for desired idle .

Hello sir how are u doing..so if my tors unplugged but still on the carb can I still adjust idle from there .just noticed I been doing air screw and wondered why it wouldn't change idle but I see now that I have to use idle on top of tors..its still plugged up just not connected..starts after a few kicks but it stays at mid idle I can lower rpm but it won't raise..every now and then I will get a very sporadic high rev I have to turn off b4 it gets higher ..I wait a sec and start back up does it every now and then
