How much power do you gain when ported and polished?

like the title says how much HP,and torque do you gain with a mild port and how much do you gain for a wild port?
How much faster do you go is the acceleration better?

just wondering havnt seen a thread like this so giving it a shot and if i get more money i might get one.
 
Unless you have a Dyno, there is no way to tell how much power you have gained. It could be a lot it could be a little. A lot of people get work done, and say oh this thing is way faster now. Is it really? Or do you just think it is because you think the work should add tons of power.

I had an aggressive trail port done, and I love it. It provides a lot more bottom end and the throttle response is better. I know that it makes more power, because my builder Dynos my motors for me. Angus Kennedy does a great job building motors. I can't wait to run the one he juts built me.

As far as what is better I would recommend talking to all the builder to see who fits your needs best.

First off, what kinda riding do you do? MX, wood/trail, drag? Theres many ways to be fast, port work is a great start, but setup is key. Most peeps think that by getting it ported it'll wake the beast up, not always true. Say you get port work but keep all the other stock sh*t on it, its pretty much useless. Gotta have the right combination of porting, carb, reeds, head mods, pipe, gearing, etc.....but thats just me!

damn, burnin oil, but it seems to me that if you do ALL those mods, you oughta get more than 18 ponies. kennedy built a 50 hp 240. that's about 33 hp increase. seems to me that if you're gonna spend all that dough on all those parts/labor, you might wanna consider researching a few more builders.
as for the initial question, yes port and polish is a HUGE benefit. it's like a performance cam in a 4stroke. changes the intake and exhaust behavior as well as the transfer timing and powerband length. talk to angus at kennedy_power, he knows what he's talking about and he dynos everything.
pinkblasty's right, if you just do a p&p, you're just cutting the end of your dick off. you HAVE to have the head redesigned w/ the proper squish dimensions because the the stock head is a joke. also, p&p running on the the stock pipe won't run all that much better than stock. you NEED a proper pipe on a 2stroke to get any real power out of it. in fact, you need to know what kinda pipe you're gonna run and it's characteristics before you even talk to a builder about a p&p job, cuz that's one of the first things that any decent builder will ask you.
 
Provided you get all the other stuff to compliment a port and polish, 60hp is even doable.
Just remember that gettin big numbers from a small motor means high rpms and low torque.

Well, if you read my signature you will see that Kennedy is building my next engine and he is going to get me 34hp-- I assume that it is going to be crank horsepower. I told both builders what I use my Blaster for and my weight and Kennedy came back with the build in my sig. and LED gave me the info in the post. Honestly, I am less interested in peak hp but in spread and reliability. I would also like to be different and I have read about rod angles and a small change can make a significant difference in reliability in engines that see a lot of upper rpm use.
